Launch of the Queensland Learner Driver Logbook app.

Dear St Luke's Anglican School
I am writing to inform you about the recent launch of the Queensland Learner Driver Logbook app.
The Palaszczuk Government is the first Government in Australia to provide an app of this kind.
The new app allows users to electronically record and store their driving hours – all from the convenience of a smartphone or tablet. It also enables users to electronically submit their completed hours directly to the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) for processing.
This is great news for senior students looking at getting their licence as the function saves learners times and money by eliminating the need to mail a completed logbook to TMR.
Learners can use the app to:
·         view their progress against set target hours,
·         enter information for past journeys,
·         use the timer to record new trips,
·         save multiple vehicle and supervisor details and
·         seek approval for trips from their supervisor by email.
Queenslanders living or travelling in poor connection areas or learners who don’t have mobile internet can use the app in an offline mode to record driving hours.
Once the device reconnects to the internet or Wi-Fi, the data will be automatically uploaded and saved to their account.
Road safety has also remained at the forefront during development of the app’s design, with prompts appearing during use including reminders for all drivers and supervisors to put phones away and not to use them while driving.
The development and launch of this contemporary and convenient app not only provides learners with an alternative to the traditional paper logbook, but it also demonstrates our commitment to continually enhancing the leaner experience.
I encourage your students on their learners to download this free new app today from the App Store or Google Play to help make their journey easier.
Yours sincerely

Fatality Free Friday promotion from our Road Safety Ambassadors and Mrs Aplin.

The Fatality Free Friday promotion went well with Road Safety Ambassadors Nicole F and Josie M supporting the cause with myself.
Hopefully it will be shown on Channel 7 tonight. It will also be in the News Mail soon.
Photo is the girls with the inflatable key which we signed as a pledge to keep the roads safe.
They did really well.
Fatality Free Friday is Friday 27 May.
The girls are happy to speak on assembly about the experience in the future.
There were members of the Fire and Rescue, SSE, Bundaberg Regional Council and the Police at this event.
All in all it went really well and we were proud to represent the school for this important cause.
Thanks
Mrs Aplin
