2016 Safety message regarding Cane Train line crossing, Cane bins and the start of the crushing season

Dear all
With Crushing season starting it is importatnt to remind all in the community about the cane train line near our school.
It is essential to stop at cane train line crossings with operating flashing lights and slow down when approaching any train crossing.
Parents and Teachers are urged to discuss railway safety with their children and remind them that it takes a considerable amount of time to actually stop when a locomotive is carrying cane bins.
Children should not be playing on train tracks or near cane bins at all.
Safety tips to protect you and your family:
  • Look out for flashing lights or Stop Signs at cane train crossings – STOP & WAIT!
  • Become familiar with cane train crossings in your area
  • Recognise the signs and be aware of crossings that don’t have flashing lights
  • Don’t play near cane railway tracks or crossings
  • Don’t race a cane train
Thanks
PR
